African Descent Women in Cinema + director Q&A's

 

In conjunction with Images of Black women Film Festival

African Descent Women in Cinema is a showcase of some of the best short-films featured at the Images of Black Women Film Festival www.imagesofblackwomen.com following screenings will be Q&A's with directors Rungano Nyoni and Destiny Ekaragha.

 

'The Park'; (drama/16mins/UK/Destiny Ekaragha)

A coming of age tale about teenage friendships. The stories they tell are nothing compared to the secrets they keep.

 

'20 Questions';(drama/9mins/UK/Rungano Nyoni)

Bea and Adam are on a weekend away when Bea finds a letter from another woman… Nyoni uses her remarkable storytelling skills to lead the viewer in this well-crafted short-film.

 

'Asylum'; (4.37mins/UK/Rumbi Katedza)

When a Sudanese woman seeks asylum in the UK, the horror of her past in Darfur keep coming back to hunt her

 

'Killer Necklace' (drama/40mins/Kenya/Judy Kibinge)

An excellent short film set in a modern African city where a lover will risk anything in an effort to be with his woman’s heart. To tell this story of desire and deceit Judy Kibinge uses innovative cinematography.
